Uma das canções do novo disco, que é em grande parte composto por músicas instrumentais, "Talkin' Hawkin" foi inspirada na vida do astrofísico inglês Stephen Hawking e conta com sua colaboração. Ainda de acordo com Gilmour, o trabalho é uma homenagem ao tecladista Rick Wright, que faleceu em decorrência de um câncer em 2008. “Por milhões de anos, a humanidade viveu como os animais.
