Em 7 de março de 2006, David Gilmour, o coração pulsante do Pink Floyd, transformou o Mermaid Theatre, em Londres, num portal para o cosmos do rock progressivo. Esse show solo, capturado em áudio cru e visceral, é uma joia para fãs: um mosaico de blues cósmico, psicodelia flutuante e baladas introspectivas, com o timbre inconfundível da Stratocaster de Gilmour cortando o ar como um farol na névoa.

"On an Island" abrea noite, enquanto "Take a Breath" homenageia Syd Barrett em riffs que evocam "Astronomy Domine". "Smile", com sua doçura folk, e o épico "Shine On You Crazy Diamond" elevam a alma, culminando no hino "Comfortably Numb", onde Gilmour e Roger Waters (em espírito) se completam. Phil Manzanera, dos Roxy Music, surge como guitarrista de apoio, adicionando camadas quentes e inesperadas.

O processo de mixagem revelou dualidades fascinantes – uma versão "headphones" para imersão pessoal e outra "speakers" para impacto coletivo, priorizando "guts" sonoros sobre polimento.
