Cyclone: O Vendaval Vocal do Tangerine Dream

Lançado em 1978, Cyclone marca a ousadia do Tangerine Dream em meio a uma crise de identidade: após a saída de Peter Baumann, Edgar Froese e Chris Franke convocaram o baterista Klaus Krüger e o multi-instrumentista Steve Jolliffe – que, curiosamente, já havia colaborado com a banda nos primórdios, antes mesmo do primeiro álbum. Um híbrido eletrizante de escola de Berlim e prog eletrônico, salpicado de vocais etéreos e efeitos alucinantes que Jolliffe injeta como um sopro de ar fresco no sequenciador hipnótico.

"Bent Cold Sidewalk" explode com flautas ventosas e letras sci-fi nonsense que evocam paisagens distópicas, enquanto o épico de 20 minutos "Madrigal Meridian" é um tour de force de ritmos pulsantes e camadas sinfônicas, pavimentando o caminho para Force Majeure. As sessões, um "tudo ou nada" experimental em estúdio, capturaram o caos criativo pós-fratura da lineup clássica de seis anos – um black sheep que, aos ouvidos de hoje, soa como um furacão revitalizador.

O Halloween 78 finalmente chega às prateleiras em 2025, remasterizado em hi-res para explodir seus fones com a fúria experimental do mestre. Gravado ao vivo no Palladium de Nova York, nos shows de 27 e 31 de outubro de 1978, este box de cinco CDs captura o auge do estilo zappiano – uma fusão insana de rock progressivo, jazz fusion e sátira afiada, com improvisos que desafiam a gravidade e letras que cutucam o ridículo da América.

Destaques? A jam épica de "Packard Goose" (19 minutos de delírio instrumental), o clássico "Peaches En Regalia" reluzente e "Watermelon In Easter Hay", um hino solitário de guitarra que arrepia a alma. Sem participações externas chamativas, mas a banda de elite – com Vinnie Colaiuta na bateria e Adrian Belew na guitarra – entrega um som cru, agora polido para revelar camadas ocultas de humor e virtuosismo.
