Albert King lançou I'll Play The Blues For You em 1972, um marco do blues elétrico que mistura soul e guitarra visceral. Relançado em 2012, o álbum destaca faixas como a faixa-título e 'Breaking Up Somebody's Home', com seu estilo inconfundível de bends na Gibson 'Lucy'. Albert, canhoto, tocava a guitarra 'de cabeça para baixo', sem trocar as cordas, o que moldou seu som único.
